Lineara was founded in Bangkok in 2019 by a small group of professionals who had each, in their own lives, experienced the frustration of searching through unfiled paperwork and unlabelled folders after a family member became unexpectedly unwell. What they found was that the problem was not unusual — it was almost universal. Yet almost no one was helping ordinary families address it in a calm, structured, non-selling way.
The name Lineara reflects the founding idea: bringing line and clarity to what is often a tangled area of family life. Not by giving advice — that is the role of lawyers, accountants, and financial planners — but by helping people understand what documents exist, where they should be kept, and how to talk about them plainly with the people who will one day need to know.
We chose Bangkok for good reason. The city is home to a large, mixed community of expat families, Thai nationals with assets in multiple countries, and many households where two or three generations live in different legal jurisdictions. The need for calm, cross-cultural document literacy is acute here, and very few organisations address it without a commercial agenda.
Clarity Without Pressure
Lineara's mission is to make the process of organising important personal documents and legacy information feel manageable rather than overwhelming. We do this through structured educational workshops, one-to-one inventory sessions, and an ongoing peer membership community.
We are not a regulated financial or legal service. We do not draft documents, manage assets, or give advice on personal arrangements. What we do is help participants understand what types of documents typically matter, how to record and communicate their locations clearly, and how to create a practical folder that a family member could follow without needing special knowledge.
Every session ends with participants pointed toward qualified professionals and official bodies for anything that falls outside the scope of general education. That boundary is one we hold carefully, because we believe it is exactly what makes Lineara a trustworthy space.

Sophia Chen
Founding Facilitator
Sophia designed the Affairs in Order curriculum after spending two decades helping families navigate document-heavy transitions. She leads group workshops and trains new facilitators.
Pattarapon Wiset
Community Manager
Pattarapon coordinates the Order & Legacy Membership community, moderates peer forums, and ensures every member knows where to find the right professional guidance for their situation.
Mark Redford
Inventory Specialist
Mark leads the one-to-one Complete Document Inventory sessions. He has a background in records management and brings a methodical, reassuring approach to each session.
Our Standards and Commitments
Strictly Non-Advisory
Every session is framed as general education. Facilitators are trained to recognise when a question falls outside our scope and to direct participants to appropriate professionals without delay.
Data Handled with Care
During inventory sessions, no personal documents are photographed or stored by Lineara. Participants retain full control of all materials. Our data practices comply with applicable Thai personal data protection standards.
Trained Facilitators
All Lineara facilitators complete an internal training programme covering session structure, communication techniques, and the boundaries of educational versus advisory content.
No Commercial Referrals
Lineara does not accept fees or commissions for referring participants to any third-party service. Our professional directory lists qualified individuals and organisations selected for competence, not commercial relationship.
Community Moderation
The peer community is actively moderated to keep conversations helpful, accurate, and within the scope of general organising and conversation facilitation. Personal legal or financial advice in the community is not permitted.
Regularly Reviewed Content
Workshop materials are reviewed twice a year to keep examples, document categories, and professional sign-posting up to date with current Thai and international contexts.
Organising as an Act of Care
There is a particular kind of overwhelm that comes when a family must search urgently for documents they have never discussed. Bank accounts, property records, insurance policies, stored wishes — when these are unrecorded and unspoken, the people left to act must make decisions without the information they need. Lineara exists to reduce that burden, not through advice, but through practical preparation.
Our workshops cover common document categories, sensible ways to label and store them, and how to create a simple folder that a non-specialist family member could navigate. The Document Inventory service brings that process into the home, working alongside participants to build a thorough, human-readable record. The membership brings community — people at different stages of the same journey, learning together and pointing one another toward the professionals who can help with individual circumstances.
Lineara is not connected to any law firm, financial institution, or government body. We are an independent educational and community organisation based at 76 Soi Sukhumvit 49, Watthana, Bangkok. Participants are always reminded that our sessions are general in nature and that their own circumstances require the guidance of qualified practitioners — whether that is a Thai-licensed lawyer, an international estate planner, or an official government body such as the Revenue Department or the Department of Provincial Administration.
